Shoppers at Petco in Bismarck were able to take a look at animals available for adoption, hosted by Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue group.
The goal is to alleviate overcrowding and euthanizing in the Bismarck pound.
They rely on events like these to spread the word of all the animals available that need homes.
“It’s fun, it’s fun. There’s a little hard ache sometimes, but most of the time, you know, they’re just fun. You get to hang onto them, you get to love them, you get to watch them grow and then you get to watch them go to new homes,” said Rachel Green, volunteer with Furry Friends.
Green says Furry Friends was founded in 2015 and now they have close to 150 volunteers. According to their website, they have about 50 cats and 10 dogs available for adoption.
