There are hardly words to describe what a woman goes through not only physically, but emotionally as well when placing their child up for adoption.
November is National Adoption Awareness Month and here to raise awareness and education for all sides is Ashley Mitchell, owner of Lifetime Healing Adoption.
She was one of these women. Found with an unplanned pregnancy 12 years ago, Ashley made what she felt was the best decision for her child and herself. And although she was one of the fortunate ones to have support from family, Ashley says many women are facing this process alone.
Adoption for birth mothers does not end in the delivery room. Even after they relinquish their parental rights, the journey of that experience continues on. Ashley is hoping to be a voice for those birth mothers and give them the support they need as they navigate life after placement.
