‘Parenting with Love and Logic’ coming to Isanti in October

Nearly 27 years ago, Jim Fay, co-author of “Parenting with Love and Logic,” first introduced the Love and Logic® concept to parents in the Cambridge-Isanti area.

Parents who wished they had some practical, effective answers for their parenting dilemmas finally had a solution and a way to help their children become self-confident, motivated, and ready for the real world.

Love and Logic® strategies help children learn to solve their own problems while gaining the confidence they need to meet life’s challenges. Adults learn to establish healthy control without resorting to anger, threats, nagging or exhausting power struggles.

Parents of toddlers to teens can appreciate and learn this common sense approach to everyday situations.

Many resources are available at LoveandLogic.com, and video clips can be found on YouTube (search for Love and Logic). For those who want in-person training, classes are available locally. Susi McCune, an independent facilitator of the Parenting the Love and Logic Way® curriculum, has facilitated Love and Logic® parenting classes since her son was 8-years-old (he’s now 35). She will be offering two Parenting the Love and Logic Way® program series during October in Isanti.

Participants will learn more effective parenting skills through videos and interactive exercises. Course highlights include: Love and Logic One-Liners, Enforceable Statements, Sharing Control through Choices and Strategic Training Sessions. Attendees will also receive a Certificate of Completion at the last session.

Parenting the Love and Logic Way® is a 10-hour curriculum developed by Jim Fay, Charles Fay, Ph.D., and Foster W. Cline, M.D. of the Love and Logic Institute, Inc. in Golden, Colorado. The Love and Logic® approach is equally useful for parents, childcare providers, educators, foster parents, and grandparents.
