Humboldt County Animal Shelter offers adoption deal – Eureka Times Standard

The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is offering a deal on dog adoptions this week.

“As you all know we have been pretty full at the shelter, even with several adoptions/redemptions we don’t seem to be making much headway,” Humboldt County Animal Services shelter manager Tamara Falor said in a press release. “Time to try a ‘sale.’ ”

Starting Monday and running through Friday, all adult dogs are $50, senior dogs 7-plus years are $35, and puppies six months or younger are $80,” according to the release.

“Please help me get the word out and try to find these great dogs loving homes,” Falor said.

Currently available adoptable pets are listed online and updated daily at petharbor.com and petfinder.com. The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is located at 980 Lycoming Ave. in McKinleyville. The shelter’s normal operating hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

At petharbor.com, 51 dogs were listed in the shelter, 28 of which were adoptable, according to the release.

For the adoption fee, the dog comes neutered or spayed, up to date on basic shots and micro-chipped.

“No way all of this is available on the open market for these prices!” Falor said.
