VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is thanking veterans and active-duty military members by offering free adoptions from Veterans Day through the end of November.
Saturday through Nov. 30, veterans and active-duty military personnel can visit the shelter for no-cost adoptions.
But, it doesn’t end at the end of the month.
From Dec. 1 through the start of 2018, veterans and active duty military personnel will also receive 25 percent off adoption fees.
Anyone hoping to take advantage of the waived adoption fees or the discount must present military ID. All adopters must have a collar, leash or carrier at the time of adoption.
The free adoptions are made possible by the Ray Hickey Foundation.
