WAUKESHA — Four of HAWS’ dogs transferred to Waukesha from Korea are now ready for adoption.
Harpo (spaniel mix), Penny (pointer mix), Maggie (hound mix) and Ceasar (dane mix) are available for viewing and adoption.
The dogs were originally destined to be killed and eaten as part of a spicy soup. They arrived in Wisconsin after “Humane Society International” shut down its ninth dog meat farm this year.
HAWS and humane societies in Brookfield as well Sheboygan and Washington Counties are serving as emergency placement partners for some of the animals.
HAWS officials noted that each dog has has been given a clean bill of health, and HAWS’ behavior team has created recommendations for the appropriate homes for each.
There are some individual considerations to take into account for these pups. HAWS’ adoptions team can give full details when you stop at HAWS in person.
