The Fostering Futures Therapeutic Foster Care Program, an affiliate of the Children’s Home of Jefferson County, will host Foster Parenting Informational Sessions in both Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties. Anyone interested in learning more about foster parenting, adoption, and the CHJC Foster Care Program is encouraged to attend either session.
■ The St. Lawrence County Session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 6 in the Human Services Center, 80 State Highway 310, Second Floor Conference Room in Canton.
■ The Jefferson County session will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 in the CHJC Campus Dining Hall Board Conference Room, 1704 State St., Watertown.
■ Foster parenting training classes will begin Sept. 13 in Canton and Sept. 17 in Watertown. The classes will continue at both locations for 10 weeks.
Participants will learn about CHJC’s Fostering Futures Therapeutic Foster Care Program. In an informal, casual setting, those attending may ask questions and speak with Fostering Futures staff. Light refreshments will be served.
The Fostering Futures Therapeutic Foster Care Program provides temporary care for children unable to live with their birth families or guardians. It allows children who may have been abused or neglected, and/or have behavioral challenges and special needs the chance to live in a family setting, attend public school and be an active member of the community.
