The Humane Rescue Alliance is asking for donations of used blankets, sheets and towels after heavy rain overnight caused flooding at one of their adoption centers in DC.
All the dogs at the New York Avenue Adoption Center were safe and unharmed, according to Matt Williams of HRA, but some bedding was damaged.
To help replace the damaged bedding, HRA is asking for donations from the public.
Donations can be dropped off at the center, located at 1201 New York Avenue Northeast.
Williams also noted there are still plenty of dogs who need homes.
“In addition, because the kennels that did get wet need to dry out, we are tight on space and appealing to the public to adopt!” Williams said in an email. “If you have been considering adopting a dog or a cat, now would be a great time! Any animal we adopt frees up space for any incoming animals at our shelter.”
