After losing my dog 2½ years ago, I’m finally at the point of looking for another puppy. So on Sat., Oct. 14, I went over to PetSmart in Westlake Village for Life Animal Rescue’s adoption event.
There were three adorable poodle puppies I was interested in. The rescue group representative told me that I must adopt two dogs. I explained that I may not be able to take two of them. Nowadays many people can’t afford to have more than one animal at a time.
I understand that certain bonded animals need to be adopted together, but otherwise I do not understand this two-dog policy. I was so disappointed.
I’ve learned that other people have had the same experience. It seems a shame to deny these animals from having a good and loving home because of such strict rules.
