MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Staff at the Peter White Public Library celebrated Michigan adoption day Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon they held a special event for foster and adoptive families.
Legos, free books and treats were on hand for the kids and families. Local adoption agencies were also on hand to provide information on the resources they provide. Marquette County Probate Judge Cheryl Hill says bringing families together is very rewarding.
“In Michigan alone there are 65,000 children that are available for adoption and today I was lucky enough to be able to preside over four adoption and there’s nothing more heart-warming than creating a forever family,” said the Honorable Cheryl Hill. “There are tears of joy, it is the best part of my job.”
Child and Family Services and U.P. Family Solutions were some of the agencies at the event. You can find more information about adoption in Michigan by clicking the related link on this page.
