Adoptive families, foster care families and members of the public are invited to attend a celebration of National Adoption Day at the Boulder County Justice Center on Friday.

The celebration will happen from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Justice Center, 1777 Sixth St. The event will include snacks, art projects and special speakers, and is free and open to the public.

“I encourage all supporters of the Boulder County adoption and foster care system to join us,” Boulder District Chief Judge Ingrid Bakke said in a statement. “Having experienced first-hand the joy of being an adoptive parent, I can wholeheartedly say that the day an adoption is finalized is a day that is never forgotten.”
