WACO, Texas – The Waco Humane Society needs your help after a recent seizure.
Adoption fees are waived for all animals. This comes after at least 15 more came in from a Wednesday animal seizure. The shelter’s hope is they won’t have to put any animals down.
The free adoption event comes after a high amount of seizures over this summer.
“Three large seizures. When you’re not expecting that, you’re expecting the ones and twos, but all of a sudden there’s 27, 30 animals in one place. It makes it very difficult,” says Executive Director Don Bland.
Bland says the shelter received over 500 dogs in August. In the most recent seizure, 16 animals were taken and all appear to be in good health.
