The All-Breed Rescue Event brought in more than 40 rescue groups from across Texas, including the Dallas and Austin areas.

The goal was to get as many dogs, cats, and even chickens adopted to loving homes in Central Texas.

Bobbie Wertman, a volunteer for the Gray Mutts Rescue and Sanctuary in Clifton, says public events like this are important for dogs of all ages and sizes.

“We have too many dogs out on the street that are homeless out on the street that need homes,” said Wertman. “By having all these groups here, they’re getting a lot of exposure, we’re getting a lot of people out here.”

Several of the groups specialized in rescuing bully breeds, Labradors, and senior dogs.
